100 Edo Pupils Sponsored for NECO GCE Exams

Mrs. Ann Usiagu-Muraina, founder, Fortem Empowerment Foundation

Fortem Empowerment Foundation sponsored 100 students to sit the 2025 NECO GCE exams in Igbanke, Orhionmwon Local Government, Edo State, as part of its youth empowerment and community development efforts.

Founder Mrs Ann Usiagu-Muraina said the initiative stems from the foundation’s belief in education as a driver of social mobility and a tool to unlock young people’s potential. Beneficiaries were drawn from schools, including Igbanke Mixed Secondary School and Omolua Secondary School.

Headteachers lauded the initiative for easing financial burdens on families, while students described the sponsorship as a lifeline that restores hope and motivation. Fortem also established a NECO examination centre at Omolua Secondary School to reduce travel challenges and improve accessibility.

The foundation stated that these interventions aim to nurture capable, empowered youths who can contribute meaningfully to society, ensuring no child is left behind.
