Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has launched a new initiative, “Lunch with the Vice-Chancellor,” aimed at strengthening student leadership development and fostering closer interaction between management and undergraduates.
The maiden edition of the programme was held on Tuesday at Yusufu Bala Usman Hall, where selected students engaged directly with Vice-Chancellor Prof Adamu Ahmed, senior academics, and industry leaders.
Ahmed said the forum was designed to prepare students for leadership roles by combining knowledge, character, and responsibility. “The future of Nigeria rests in your hands. This platform is meant to inspire you, to help you question, and to prepare you for the responsibility ahead,” he stated.
He added that the event, which will be held twice yearly, also provides a platform for open dialogue between management and students. He commended Ahmed Zakari & Co., sponsors of the programme, describing the firm as one of the most successful alumni-owned companies in Nigeria.
