Access Bank Holds Polo Event in Support of Education

Access Bank, one of Nigeria’s leading banks, recently held its 2025 UK Charity Polo Day at Guards Polo Club, Windsor, with a strong message: every child deserves the right to education.

The event, held in conjunction with Fifth Chukker and UNICEF, raised funds to build schools in impoverished areas of Nigeria. As of the last count, the project has constructed 60 classrooms in Kaduna State alone, enabling over 14,000 children to attend school. This year, the goal is to build more, with special focus on girls and children from low-income families.

Jamie Simmonds, CEO of Access Bank UK, said the event connects privilege with purpose. Access Holdings Chairman, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, called it an investment in Africa’s future. Group CEO Roosevelt Ogbonna added that education is a foundation, not a choice. UNICEF, a key partner, ensures the project remains accountable and impactful. The Polo Day demonstrates how business, sport, and charity can come together to make a positive impact on lives.
