Achievers University, Owo, has announced that 72 students will graduate with First Class honours as the institution confers degrees on 705 students at its 15th Convocation Ceremony. Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oyesoji Aremu, disclosed the breakdown during a pre-convocation briefing marking the University’s 18th Foundation Day.
According to him, 656 candidates will receive first degrees, including 318 in Second Class Upper, 223 in Second Class Lower and 40 in Third Class. Another 49 graduands will earn higher degrees, including postgraduate diplomas, an MBA, an MSc, and a PhD.
Aremu highlighted recent academic milestones, including global recognition for student Oni Favour Oluwafemi, selected among 50 participants worldwide for the Optica Amplify Immersion Programme in the United States.
He also celebrated Iluyemi Bisola, who emerged as the Best Final-Year Accounting Student in Ondo State with a CGPA of 4.87, underscoring the strength of the University’s reaccredited Accounting programme.
He said the institution had maintained strong professional training outcomes, including the induction of medical laboratory scientists, nurses, public health graduates, and engineers.
He also emphasised the impact of the University’s tuition-free scheme, which has produced 319 graduates across 12 programmes.
Aremu confirmed progress on major infrastructure projects and announced honorary degrees for three distinguished Nigerians as part of this year’s celebrations.
