Nursing and Midwifery Council inducts 163 Achievers University graduates at 6TH oath-taking ceremony
The future of Nigerian healthcare got a fresh boost as 163 newly trained nurses took their professional oath at Achievers University, Owo, marking the Faculty of Nursing Science’s 6th induction ceremony.
In a solemn gathering at the Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Auditorium, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) formally admitted the graduates into the profession.
Representing the Council, Mrs Oluwaseun Olanihun urged the inductees to uphold the ethics of care, maintain patient confidentiality, and continually improve their skills. “Respect patient dignity, protect confidentiality, and uphold the highest standards of practice,” she said.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Omolola Irinoye described the ceremony as “the beginning of a sacred ministry of care,” praising the resilience of the inductees and calling on them to serve as ambassadors of excellence. Clad in white, she said, they now carry a symbol of compassion and commitment.
Highlighting recent achievements, Dean of the faculty, Prof. S. K. Olubiyi, announced full accreditation from the NMCN and increased student intake—signalling strong confidence in the university’s nursing programme.
Awards were also presented to standout graduates and veteran nurses whose legacies continue to inspire. The ceremony underscored Achievers University’s growing reputation as a hub for healthcare education in Nigeria.
