Personal Excellence Coach, Adebayo Ajayi, has urged Nigerian universities and training centres to adopt more practical, hands-on methods of teaching to improve innovation and competitiveness.
Ajayi, who wrote the book “Living Excellently” and founded Success Within International, said that practical learning is more effective than theoretical instruction. He explained that mentorship and real-life exposure can help students develop the skills that are currently lacking in Nigeria.
He also pointed out that Nigerians in the diaspora have an important role to play by bringing back global knowledge, connections, and investments to support growth at home.
Ajayi added that combining classroom knowledge with industry experience will help young Nigerians compete globally and solve local problems. He emphasised that both education and leadership in Nigeria must uphold excellence, while mentorship and applied learning should become integral to the culture to accelerate national development.
