Al-Hikmah Vice-Chancellor Bows Out After Major Reforms

Prof. Noah Yusuf, Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin – bows out

The Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Prof. Noah Yusuf, has officially ended his tenure, marking a period of significant progress for the institution.

Speaking with journalists, Prof. Yusuf expressed regret over not completing a planned ₦7 million printing press project but celebrated key achievements during his leadership. He noted that when he took office in 2020, the university had limited infrastructure and was “almost at a standstill.” Under his leadership, all 45 academic programmes gained full accreditation, and student numbers grew. Campuses at Igbaja, Adeta, and Atere were fully fenced and upgraded with new hostels, a gym, and international schools.

Staff also benefited, with over 40% receiving loans and training support. The Igbaja campus now operates a free agricultural programme to empower young people. Yusuf described his tenure as a “rescue mission,” aiming to transform Al-Hikmah into a premier academic and moral institution that blends faith and knowledge.
