The Bayero University Kano (BUK) 1991 Alumni Association rolled out the drums on September 27, 2025, to celebrate two of their own who have recently reached the pinnacle of academic leadership.
Prof. Haruna Musa Dambatta is now the 12th Vice Chancellor of BUK, while Prof. Yahaya Isah Bunkure has been appointed the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria.
The colourful dinner took place at the 10 to 10 Restaurant and Event Centre in Kano. It featured prayers, introductions, and welcome remarks by the association’s Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu Shamakeri. Both honourees were later presented with special congratulatory cards to mark the occasion.
For the alumni, this was not just a dinner, but a proud moment that showcased the heights their members can attain through hard work and excellence. The new Vice-Chancellors’ achievements were hailed as an inspiration to students and graduates across Nigeria’s academic space.
