Ambassador Hamzat Lawal, Executive Director of Connected Development (CODE), has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace, youth engagement, and women’s empowerment across Kogi State.
Speaking during a peace sensitisation and empowerment outreach at the palace of the Ohi of Okene in Okene Local Government Area, Lawal emphasised the need for sustained peace as a foundation for development. He vowed to continue supporting the government’s efforts to maintain the prevailing peace in the state.
“No society can experience meaningful development in the absence of peace. We are committed to promoting dialogue, inclusivity, and empowerment as tools for sustainable progress,” Lawal said.
Lawal called on parents to prioritise the education and upbringing of their children, especially in their formative years, to curtail the rise in social vices among youths. As part of the outreach, Lawal empowered hundreds of women in rural communities, stressing that the Connected Development empowerment initiative is designed to uplift underprivileged women and promote financial independence.
