ANAN Fulfils Promise, Donates Research Centre to UAT

The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) has fulfilled its promise by donating an Accounting Research Centre to the University of Africa, Toru-Orua (UAT), Bayelsa State. The centre was officially commissioned on April 14, 2025, by ANAN’s 13th President, Dr James Ekerare Neminebor, alongside other members and fellows.

Dr Neminebor said the project was his signature contribution, and he chose UAT despite pressure to build it elsewhere. He urged the university to maintain the facility properly, adding that ANAN may provide yearly support if it is well-managed. ANAN also announced a One Million Naira prize for UAT’s best accounting graduate.

UAT’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Ebobrah, praised ANAN’s integrity and support for education. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Barclays Ayakoroma, stated that it is ANAN’s largest donation yet. The event was well-attended and concluded with congratulations to Dr Neminebor on his recent chieftaincy title.
