The Vice-Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, Professor Ibrahim Hassan Garba, has assured staff that the university will no longer face delays in staff promotions and welfare matters.
He said the university management has designed a new system that will make promotion exercises smooth and timely, unlike in the past when staff often waited long before their entitlements were implemented.
Professor Garba made this promise when the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) visited him separately in Bauchi to show their support.
The Vice-Chancellor thanked the unions for their solidarity and described their action as a demonstration of patriotism and commitment to the institution’s growth and development. He noted that both staff and students share a common pride in making ATBU an intense centre of learning.
The assurance is expected to boost staff morale and strengthen trust in his administration.
