Bauchi Polytechnic Suspends Academic Activities Over Insecurity

Governor Dauda Lawal Dare of Zamfara State

The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has suspended all academic activities following a directive from the Bauchi State Government to close schools due to escalating security concerns.

Deputy Registrar (Academics) Safiyo Yila, signing on behalf of the registrar, confirmed the immediate halt in a memo to staff and students. The notice cited the state’s order to close all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, prompting the polytechnic to comply.

Heads of departments have been instructed to enforce the suspension and ensure the safety of students and staff. No resumption date has been set, but updates will be communicated as soon as they are available.

The state government had earlier announced the temporary closure of schools in response to persistent regional security threats, aimed at protecting the academic community.
