The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) office in Osogbo, Osun State, was thrown into confusion on Tuesday as hundreds of candidates seeking services were left stranded.
Many had travelled from towns such as Ife, Ede, Ikire, Ikirun, and even Oko in Oyo State to resolve issues like changing institutions, changing courses, and admission regularisation. Arriving as early as 6:30 a.m., they waited in the scorching sun, but only a few were attended to before officials ordered the rest to return another day.
The scene was tense when reporters visited. A long queue stretched outside the office, with some candidates sitting on the bare floor while others leaned on fences, clutching their documents in frustration.
For many admission seekers, the wasted trip and the delays heightened their fears of missing out on critical admission deadlines. The repeated difficulties at the Osogbo centre have led candidates to call for urgent action from JAMB to alleviate their struggles.
