The Child Protection Network (CPN), Ogun State chapter, in partnership with SOS Children’s Village, has organised a seminar for secondary school students to address the rising cases of social vices among youths.
The event, held at the Iwe-Iroyin Press Centre in Abeokuta, was part of the activities to mark the 2025 Day of the African Child. It was supported by the Ogun State Ministries of Education, Science and Technology, and Women Affairs and Social Development. Students were urged to stay away from cultism, drug abuse, and other negative behaviours. Speakers, including the Dean of Law at Chrisland University, Prof. Kayode Akinsola, and Hon. Justice Phillip Akinside, encouraged students to embrace hard work, education, and integrity.
Justice Akinside shared his personal story, stressing that with focus and determination, anyone can succeed regardless of background. The seminar promoted mentorship and positive lifestyle choices.
