Church Launches Free School for Underprivileged Children

Pastor Emmanuel Iren, Founder and Lead Pastor of Celebration Church International (CCI), has launched Propella Schools, the church’s first free school, in Ibadan, Oyo State. The school, officially commissioned on Monday, September 15, began classes with about 80 students. It aims to provide quality education at no cost to children from underprivileged backgrounds.

Pastor Iren said the initiative was created to provide children with an environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential. Earlier this year, he shared updates on social media about the school’s development.

During the commissioning, Pastor Iren rang the school’s first bell, a moment shared in a viral video on social media. The launch has been widely praised online, particularly as rising costs and financial barriers often prevent children from accessing education in Nigeria.

Propella Schools provides modern facilities alongside free tuition, offering a model of community empowerment through education. Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong described the initiative as “commendable,” while medical doctor Dr Mary urged bloggers to help spread the news.

The launch highlights the role faith-based organisations can play in supporting education, combining vision with social impact to reach vulnerable children.
