Dr. Phillips Omeiza Salawu
The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has conferred a Fellowship (FCIB) on Dr Phillips Omeiza Salawu, a former Deputy Governor of Kogi State and member of the PDP Board of Trustees, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s banking and financial sector.
The award was presented on November 1, 2025, during the Institute’s investiture ceremony at the National Arts Theatre, Lagos. CIBN described the honour as a testament to Salawu’s integrity, visionary leadership, and commitment to professional excellence.
Salawu, a lawyer, accountant and economist, has received six other career fellowships from globally recognised professional bodies, including ICAN, CITN, and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.
Widely regarded for his intellect and service, Salawu’s career reflects a lifelong pursuit of excellence and national development.
In his speech, he vowed continuous commitment to ethical leadership and capacity building, noting that professional integrity remains key to sustainable progress in Nigeria’s financial system.
