At the 2025 Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) fellowship conferment, Tunde Adaramaja, Managing Partner of Tac Professional Services, urged tax professionals to see taxation as a catalyst for inclusive growth rather than a mere fiscal duty.
Addressing 685 newly inducted Fellows, Adaramaja highlighted that tax revenue underpins national development, funding roads, schools, healthcare, and social infrastructure.
He stressed that beyond compliance, accurate assessments and fair advice strengthen the social contract between citizens and the state.
The remarks coincide with Nigeria’s planned tax reforms, set for January 2026. CITN President Innocent Ohagwa described the overhaul as a shift toward efficient, technology-driven tax administration, urging members to lead by example and upgrade skills via webinars, training programmes, and the annual tax conference.
CITN has launched 14 webinar series, the monthly “CITN Taxation and You” forum, and advocacy drives across 49 district societies to bridge knowledge gaps between authorities and taxpayers.
Registrar/CEO Folaka Oso emphasised that fellowship is a mark of professional excellence, integrity and service. Dr Yemi Sanni, Chairman of the Membership and Professional Conduct Committee, added that Fellows are now ambassadors of CITN and are expected to actively contribute to the Institute and its district societies.
