A confrontation between a staff member and security personnel at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, disrupted activities on campus during Tuesday’s Post-UTME screening exercise.
The incident occurred when security officers blocked access to a restricted road designated to ease movement for candidates and their guardians. Witnesses said the non-teaching staff member, who attempted to drive through the route, refused to comply when told to use an alternative road.
The disagreement escalated into a heated exchange, drawing the attention of prospective students and parents waiting nearby. At one point, the staff member reportedly revved his engine as security officers stood in front of the vehicle, heightening fears of a physical clash.
The standoff caused tension in the examination area, with some parents expressing concern that the incident could distract candidates. University officials have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the incident.
