Dr Chukwunonso Ekesiobi, Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor on Strategy and Policy Implementation at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), has received the Gold Medal Award of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES).
The award was presented by the NES President, Professor Adeola Adenikinju, during the society’s 66th annual conference at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja.
Dr Ekesiobi was honoured for his long-standing contributions to the NES, where he serves as National Students’ Liaison Officer, Special Assistant on Students Affairs to the NES President, and Secretary of both the Southeast Zone and the Anambra State Chapter.
The Department of Economics at COOU, led by its Head, Professor Ogonna Ifebi, is participating in the conference with staff and students taking part in various sessions as part of the University’s visibility drive.
The conference brings together economists, academics, and policymakers to discuss strategies for advancing Nigeria’s economic development.
