Dangote University Clears the Air on Unaudited Accounts Allegation

The management of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, has dismissed allegations by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) that it failed to release audited accounts, describing the claims as misleading.

In a statement by Abdullahi Datti, the Deputy Registrar and Head of Information, Media, and Public Relations, the university announced that it inherited a backlog of unaudited accounts for the years 2020, 2021, and 2022. However, it has since engaged external auditors, who have completed and released the reports to the public.

“The 2023 accounts are currently with the external auditors and will be made public once finalised,” the statement read.

Datti noted that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Musa Tukur Yakasai, has focused on infrastructure and academic improvements since assuming office. He added that a new Budget Monitoring Committee has been reconstituted following the formation of the sixth governing council.

He further explained that staffing and facility shortages in newly created departments were being addressed, and power supply across the campus had only been rationed, not disconnected, due to high electricity costs.
