Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti, has received full accreditation for 18 academic programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The approval follows the October/November 2024 accreditation exercise conducted by the commission in Abuja.
The confirmation was conveyed in a letter dated April 30, 2025, signed by Engineer Abraham Chundusu, Acting Director of Accreditation, on behalf of the Executive Secretary.
The accredited programmes span Administration, Humanities, Engineering, Education, Science, and Social Science.
They include M.Sc. Business Administration, Master of Personnel Management, M.Sc. Finance, Master of Public Administration, and Master of Business Administration.
Others are Arabic Studies, Islamic Studies, Philosophy, Christian Religious Studies Education, and Psychology.
Also accredited are Building and Woodwork Technology Education, Electrical and Electronic Technology, Metal and Auto Mechanic Technology, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Geology.
The letter was addressed to Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, the Vice Chancellor.
Prof. Ayodele described the development as a dream come true and credited the achievement to the dedication of the staff.
He said EKSU is well-positioned to meet the educational needs of Nigerian youth in relevant and emerging fields.
He also noted that the university’s growing reputation was affirmed by its recognition as the best state university in Nigeria in the 2025 Times Higher Education ranking.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, who is also the university’s Visitor. He also thanked the Chancellor, Dr Tunji Olowolafe, and the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council, Prof. Akin Oyebode, for their support
