Elizade University has hosted Dr Babasola Fateye, a scholar from the United States, as part of the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Programme. This is the second time the university has joined this programme to boost research and teaching in Africa.
Dr Fateye collaborated with Elizade’s Biology Department on a project utilising Galleria larvae, a cost-effective and safe method for testing medicines and chemicals. This helps lower research costs and gives good results. They also trained students on how to monitor the environment. The university has received new lab equipment donated by Dr Fateye to support future research. Elizade University aims to attract more international scholars to enhance education and research in Nigeria.
