An entrepreneur, Mazi Nwannebuike Ekenedilichukwu Nwoke, has distributed learning materials to thousands of pupils in Agbadala-Achi, Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The donation, made on Saturday, covered pupils from nursery to primary six, who received branded exercise books, pens, and pencils. The gesture was carried out on behalf of his family and the management of La Tranquilo Hotel, Achi.
During the event, brilliant pupils were rewarded with extra prizes in quiz sessions. Three primary six pupils, for example, won mathematical sets for correctly answering social studies questions.
The programme, tagged Welcome Back to School, also featured songs, moral talks, and a mini-party to encourage good behaviour as pupils resumed classes.
The resident priest of St. John’s Anglican Church, Ven. Solomon Obiukwu commended Nwoke for his generosity, saying it would inspire children to take their studies seriously.
