The chairman of Geometric Power Aba Limited (GPAL), Prof Barth Nnaji, has called for the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into Nigeria’s education system.
Nnaji, a renowned engineer and former minister of Power, made the call at the 2025 Annual Fafunwa Foundation Lecture, held at the Muson Centre in Lagos.
The annual event is instituted to honour the legacy of Babatunde Aliyu Fafunwa, a professor and former Minister of Education, as well as a Pan-Nigerian icon.
Nnaji emphasised the urgent need for Nigeria to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution through culturally rooted, AI-enhanced pedagogy.
“Nigeria and the rest of Africa lost the last three Revolutions. We cannot afford to lose the 4th Industrial Revolution”, Nnaji declared, insisting the growth and development of Nigeria largely depend on it.
