The Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, Anambra State, has honoured Miss Fidelis Chinyere Blessing, a second-year Fine and Applied Arts student, for her exceptional performance in the 2025 COEASU National Scholarship Competition.
Blessing emerged as the first runner-up at the national level with 46 points, missing the top spot by a single mark. Earlier, she was named Best NCE Student in the South East Zone, earning ₦500,000 and qualification for the national finals in Abuja.
At a reception in her honour, the Provost of the institution, Prof Theresa Obumneme Okoli, praised Blessing for her diligence and brilliance, describing her as a worthy ambassador of the college. She said her achievement reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing creativity and academic excellence.
COEASU Chairman, Dr Sunny Okeke, and College Librarian, Dr Agada Samson Arome, commended Blessing’s performance and lauded COEASU for promoting academic competitiveness among students nationwide.
COEASU, known in full as Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, is a body in charge of academic staff in colleges of education in Nigeria.
