The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH) has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Anambra State Government.
The association emphasised that if its demands are not met within the stipulated time, they would go on strike.
Prof. Joseph Umeobika, the MDCAN Chairman, stated that the association has submitted petitions and held several meetings with the hospital management, yet there has been no positive feedback.
They stated that the association will stop training resident doctors, call back resident doctors on outside postings, discharge all patients, and stop ongoing research.
