The Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan (FCAIB), is collaborating closely with the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) to enhance farming practices and increase the productivity and competitiveness of the agricultural sector in the country.
The Provost of the College, Prof. Jonathan Jeremiah Atungwu, announced this on Thursday when ARCN’s Executive Secretary, Dr Abubakar Adamu Dabban, and his team visited Ibadan.
Prof. Atungwu stated that the partnership highlights the importance of collaboration in achieving Nigeria’s agricultural objectives. He commended ARCN for driving research that supports food security, rural development, and economic growth. He also noted that the collaboration aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises agriculture at the centre of national development.
The move is expected to bring fresh opportunities in research, innovation, and practical solutions to the many challenges facing Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
