The Federal Government (FG) has urged the staff of Nigerian universities not to embark on their proposed nationwide strike.
The appeal came after the 21-day ultimatum issued to the government by the leaders of the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT). To prevent the looming industrial action, the Federal Governmentmet with the leadership of the workers under the aegis of the NAAT in Abuja. Maigari Dingyadi, the Minister of Labour and Employment, who led the Federal Government’s representatives at the meeting, set up a technical committee to look into the issues the union raised and signed an agreement with them.
