The Federal Government has approved 60 academic programmes for the Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu, Yobe State.
According to a letter signed by Dr. Fatima Kabir Umar, Director of Polytechnic and Allied Programmes at the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the approval covers 24 new programmes in emerging fields at both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels, as well as the re-accreditation of 36 existing courses.
Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Ibrahim Bashir Bello, described the approval as proof of teamwork between the management and staff. He noted that most of the new programmes were designed to address pressing societal needs.
Dr. Bello commended the institution’s staff for their dedication and urged them to continue working hard to achieve the polytechnic’s founding objectives of producing skilled manpower for national development.
