The Federal Government has asked Nigerians to disregard false information being circulated about the newly revised school curricula, stating that the changes are based on research, national needs, and global best practices.
This was made known by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) in a statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Prof. Salisu Shehu, on Thursday in Abuja.
Prof. Shehu stated that the claims circulating on social media were distorted and fabricated, intended to mislead the public, create unnecessary tension, and erode trust in the education system.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Federal Ministry of Education recently approved the New Revised Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) and the Senior Secondary Education Curriculum (SSEC), which are now officially in use.
