Dr Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education
The federal government (FG) has launched the Federal Government Tertiary Institution Governance and Transparency Platform (FTIGTP).
Inaugurated on Tuesday, October 4, 2025, in Abuja, the platform aims to infuse efficiency, accountability, and transparency into Nigeria’s tertiary education system.
Dr Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, while speaking at the launch, said the platform will restore public trust, allow data-driven decision-making, and ensure that good governance continues. According to him, the “FTIGTP is a fulfilment of President Tinubu’s commitment to open governance. “Nigerians will now be able to see how public resources are allocated and utilised in our tertiary institutions,” he stated.
The minister stated that all institutions will be directed to use the FTIGTP, emphasising that financial reporting done on the platform will be used to rate their performances.
