The Governing Council of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, has announced the commencement of the selection process for a new Vice-Chancellor, as the position becomes vacant in February 2026.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Mufutau Ibrahim, the Council invited applications from qualified academics to lead the institution, one of the universities established by the Federal Government in 2011 to expand access to higher education.
FUOYE currently operates two campuses — Oye-Ekiti and Ikole-Ekiti — with 15 faculties and a student population of over 59,000.
The Vice-Chancellor serves as the University’s Chief Executive, Accounting Officer, and Academic Head, responsible for maintaining order, promoting academic excellence, and overseeing all administrative and financial matters.
According to the announcement, eligible candidates must be professors with at least ten years of experience, possess a doctoral degree, demonstrate the ability to attract research funding, and show evidence of sound leadership and integrity.
Applicants must also be under 65 years old as of February 2026.
The position carries a single five-year term, with remuneration and conditions of service consistent with federal university standards. Applications are to be submitted online via careers.fuoye.edu.ng within six weeks of publication.
