The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has honoured its former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, as he turned 70 and retired from active academic service.
The College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC) hosted a ceremony on Tuesday at the university’s Green Chamber, attended by academics, staff, students and family members.
Speakers, including the Dean of COLFHEC, Professor Adebukunola Omemu, highlighted Professor Oyewole’s role in mentoring scholars and contributing to the university’s global standing.
In his remarks, Professor Oyewole thanked the FUNAAB community and urged colleagues to remain guided by their values.
Later the same day, the university senate held a special session where the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babatunde Kehinde, presented him with gifts on behalf of the institution.
