Korede Titiloye, FUOYE 400-level student wins EY Young Tax Professional competition
Korede Titiloye, a 400-level Accounting student at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), has won the EY Young Tax Professional of the Year (YTPY) 2025, earning national recognition for his analytical and problem-solving skills.
The competition attracted 585 applicants from over 40 higher institutions. Following psychometric tests, written submissions, case studies, and virtual presentations, Korede emerged as the overall winner, impressing judges with creativity and clarity in addressing complex business challenges.
Speaking at the Lagos award ceremony, EY’s Akeem Ogunseni highlighted the rigorous multi-stage process, noting that only 374 candidates progressed past the preliminary stage, with the top 10 advancing to the grand finale. EY Tax Partner Temitope Samagbeyi encouraged finalists to continue pursuing excellence.
Korede, who previously struggled with taxation, credited resilience and self-study for his victory. He expressed gratitude to EY and fellow finalists for the platform and competition.
As the national winner, Korede will represent EY Nigeria at the global level and gain mentorship, internships, networking opportunities, and other prizes. Runners-up also receive internships, branded materials, and career development resources.
