Professor Olusegun Ojo, Chief Medical Director of FUTA Teaching Hospital
The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Teaching Hospital has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of new principal officers, aimed at boosting administrative efficiency and service delivery.
The management team, now fully constituted under the Chairmanship of Dr Olaseinde Bello, appointed in September as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee, welcomes Mrs Helen Nike Ajayi as Director of Administration. Formerly Deputy Director of Administration at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, Ajayi holds a BSc in Public Administration and an MSc in Managerial Psychology.
Dr Olaniyi Ogunleye joins as Director of Finance. He previously served as Assistant Director of Internal Audit at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, and holds multiple degrees in accounting, as well as a Master’s in Public Administration.
Other appointees include Mr Alatanye Taiye Solomon as Head of Internal Audit and Mr Folorunsho Abidakun as Chief Procurement Officer. Solomon is a Chartered Accountant with advanced academic and professional credentials. At the same time, Abidakun brings extensive procurement expertise with certifications from the National Bureau of Public Procurement and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria.
Professor Olusegun Ojo, Chief Medical Director, described the appointments as pivotal for the hospital’s growth. “These appointments signal the beginning of a transformative era that will reposition the hospital to provide high-quality tertiary healthcare,” he said. The restructuring is expected to enhance internal processes and accelerate service delivery across all departments.
