Prof. Adenike Oladiji, VC of the Federal University of Technology, Akure
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Prof. Adenike Oladiji, has called on newly admitted students to uphold the university’s tradition of excellence, integrity, and innovation.
Speaking at the orientation for the 2025/2026 session, she emphasised that students’ conduct both on and off campus reflects FUTA’s image.
Oladiji warned against cultism, drug abuse, indecent dressing, examination misconduct, and misuse of social media, noting that severe violations, including impersonation, attract expulsion without appeal. She advised students to choose friends wisely and seek support from the Student Affairs Division when in distress.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. David Oke, reinforced the message, urging students to combine intellectual development with moral discipline. He stressed that FUTA’s degrees reward not only academic excellence but also exemplary character.
The orientation featured goodwill messages from deans of various schools and a drama presentation by the School of Performing Arts on “Choices”.
