Prof. Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman, VC IBBUL visits China, Secures MoU and Key Leadership Roles in Traditional Medicine
Prof. Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, concluded a strategic visit to Wuhan, China, advancing Nigeria’s interests in Agriculture, Veterinary, and Traditional Medicine while securing key international collaborations.
From 18th to 25th November 2025, he participated in the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) 2025–2027, delivering a keynote on enhancing African agricultural productivity and veterinary systems through transnational partnerships.
He and the delegation, including the Dean of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr Abdulmumin Zayd Abubakar, also attended the 8th Belt and Road International Conference on Traditional Medicine. Sulaiman was appointed Advisor to the newly launched Global Association of Traditional Medicine (GATM), while Dr Abubakar became Vice President for West Africa.
The visit included a partnership with Hubei University, during which Sulaiman signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish joint research, staff exchanges, capacity-building, and collaborative academic programs.
The engagements elevated IBBU’s international profile, strengthened global academic networks, and positioned the University to contribute meaningfully to the development of traditional medicine and scientific collaboration across Africa and beyond.
