The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has launched an investigation into a viral video that allegedly shows impersonation during its examinations.
In the clip, a woman identified as Liveth Felix admitted to writing the examination for Sarah Adi, while a man, Abraham Moses, confessed to sitting in for Martins Emmanuel. Both claimed they were recruited by a man called Joshua in Jalingo, Taraba State. The invigilators in the video assured that the matter would be reported to the security agencies.
The video has since sparked public outrage, particularly over claims that one of the impersonated candidates is a public officeholder in Taraba.
Reacting, ICAN Registrar and Chief Executive, Lanre Olasunkanmi, urged Nigerians not to jump to conclusions, noting that the Institute had already launched a thorough investigation. He assured that ICAN remains committed to upholding integrity and credibility in its professional examinations.
