The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), in collaboration with the United Kingdom and the District Society, will hold a pre-independence seminar on Friday, September 26, 2025, to examine Nigeria’s economic realities and outline reforms for sustainable growth.
The virtual event, themed “Nigeria@65: A Call to Resilience and Reform for Nigeria’s Sustainable Growth,” will run from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. UK time. Participants will also earn Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) credits.
ICAN UK stated that the session comes at a crucial time, as Nigeria faces rising inflation, weak reserves, and structural governance challenges. The seminar aims to highlight reforms, resilience strategies, and leadership needed to reposition the economy.
Speakers include ICAN President, Haruna Yahaya; ICAN UK District Chairman, Akintayo Ojo; and ICAN UK Technical Secretary, Samuel Olayioye.
Also on the panel are Abiola Bakare, Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Budget and Finance; Tayo Ogundipe, CEO of Intelligra and SOLO; and Temitope Kolade, ESG consultant and Associate Director at Anderson.
Organisers said discussions will cover fiscal reforms, innovative governance, private sector resilience, and diaspora engagement. They stressed that resilience and reform remain essential to Nigeria’s survival in a competitive global economy.
