Prof. Olasebikan Fakolujo, the VC of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji
The Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State, is set to celebrate its 16th convocation ceremony.
Prof. Olasebikan Fakolujo, the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the institution, while speaking with journalists about the forthcoming ceremony, said it is more than a celebration; it is about positioning the university on the global higher education map.
He added, “We measure success differently. Yes, we celebrate academic excellence, 57 first-class graduates this year alone. However, we also measure success by how many villages our students have served, through community engagement programmes; how many startups our entrepreneurship graduates have launched; how many patients our nursing graduates have cared for.
The VC also expressed that the success achieved at the Nigerian Law School by Adio Janet, one of the students from the university, is a result of a “curriculum that combines rigorous legal training with practical courtroom simulations, through faculty who are practising legal professionals, and through a culture that expects excellence and provides the support to achieve it.”
