Kenyon International West Africa Company Ltd has awarded scholarships worth ₦2.5 million to five engineering students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
Each beneficiary will receive ₦500,000 annually under the company’s undergraduate scholarship scheme, which was announced during its 10th anniversary celebration in Lagos on September 12, 2025.
The recipients — Israel Ayeni (Mechatronics Engineering), Shuaibu Amir Yakubu (Civil Engineering), Nasiru Saidu Baba (Chemical Engineering), Khadija Abubakar (Civil Engineering), and Habib Muhammad Kabir (Chemical Engineering) — were selected through a competitive Computer-Based Test conducted by the Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Communication Technology, ABU.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed, represented by his deputy, Professor Bello Sabo, commended the company for its commitment to education and human capital development. He also received a special award on behalf of the university in recognition of its partnership with Kenyon International in hosting the scholarship test.
Professor Ahmed described the initiative as a valuable contribution to training skilled engineers in Nigeria and urged other oil and gas firms to support young talent through similar interventions.
