The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, CP Adekimi Ojo, has promised to arrest and prosecute the robbers who recently attacked students of Kwara State University (KWASU) in Malete. He made this vow during his visit to the university on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. CP Ojo assured students and staff that more police officers will be deployed to the area to prevent future incidents. He praised the university management for acting promptly and advised students to remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activity to the police.
KWASU’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, thanked the police and other security agencies for their quick response. He noted that the school’s long record of peace was due to teamwork with security agencies and the Malete community. A joint security committee has been established and is already operational. Community leaders, students, and university staff were all present during the police chief’s visit.
