Yewande Cole-Jeje, the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos state Governor on Basic Education
The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), has organised an advocacy and sensitisation programme for girl pupils in public primary schools.
Yewande Cole-Jeje, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Basic Education, during the programme, said it was organised to share more information with girls on personal hygiene, self-development, and sexual abuse.
Addressing the girls present, Cole-Jeje said, “As girls, you should not limit yourselves, be courageous to take space in professional and leadership positions. You have the power to influence change and contribute meaningfully to society.”
Dr Hakeem Shittu, LASUBEB Executive Chairman, advised the girls to treat their bodies as a treasure and never let anyone take advantage of them.
