The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has congratulated Comrade Adebayo Korede Peter (APK) and other winners of the 36th LASUSU elections held on July 28 and 29, 2025.
Comrade APK was elected President of LASUSU, while Hon. Ogunbiyi Akorede Joshua emerged as the Speaker of the Student Parliamentary Council. The Vice-Chancellor praised their victory, saying it shows students believe in their leadership. She also described the elections as peaceful, free, and fair, setting a good example for student politics in Nigeria. Professor Olatunji-Bello promised to work closely with the new leaders to promote students’ welfare.
She further appreciated all other contestants for their maturity and sportsmanship, reminding them that “win or lose, you are all winners.” Finally, she applauded the electoral committee for organising a credible and well-managed election, noting that their efforts would be remembered positively.
