Muhammad Ghali Salisu, secretary, Lado Development Foundation (LDF)
The Lado Development Foundation (LDF) has awarded scholarships to 17,888 students from Katsina State studying in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Speaking during the disbursement ceremony at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, the Foundation’s secretary, Muhammad Ghali Salisu, said the beneficiaries were drawn from all 34 local councils of the state. He noted that 1,500 students from the host university were among those whose tuition fees were covered.
Salisu said the initiative, now in its fourth phase, has provided support to 4,706 NECO candidates, 4,176 JAMB applicants, 3,313 NCE students, 206 polytechnic students, and 5,487 university students.
He added that the Foundation’s impact extends beyond education, with over 5,000 patients receiving medical bill assistance and thousands of women benefiting from business empowerment programmes.
According to him, the Foundation’s interventions are designed to ease the financial burden on families and promote human development across Katsina State.
