The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has urged the Federal Government to extend student loans awarded by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to postgraduates.
Applauding NELFund, the MSSN highlighted the government’s effort in easing undergraduates’ financial burdens. The society then requested that the government extend its benefits to postgraduate students to eradicate their inability to continue studying due to funding issues.
“However, to ensure inclusivity and deeper national development, we recommend the fund’s expansion to cover postgraduate students as well.” In addition, they lamented the marginalisation of muslim youths in national leadership and the lack of mentorship.
