Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has donated ₦20 million to support the development of education and healthcare in Anambra State.
During a visit to the College of Nursing Sciences at Diocesan Hospital, Amichi, Obi contributed ₦5 million towards the ongoing infrastructural projects. The Anglican Bishop of Amichi Diocese, Rt Revd Ephraim Ikeakor, commended Obi’s consistent commitment to public welfare, describing him as “a rare politician whose compassion is not driven by political ambition.”
Bishop Ikeakor noted that Obi’s yearly visits and donations reflect sincerity and dedication to community growth. Student leader Onyedika Otubaluonye also praised Obi for his continued support, recalling the ambulance he previously donated to the school.
At St Felix Hospital, Nnewi, Obi further donated ₦15 million to strengthen healthcare services. The hospital’s manager, Rev Fr Peter Ugochukwu, expressed gratitude, noting that Obi’s visit renewed hope as the hospital works to build a permanent site and establish a School of Nursing and Midwifery.
