Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has approved automatic postgraduate scholarships for the best graduating students across the state’s four public universities, reinforcing his administration’s push for academic excellence and youth development.
According to the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, Executive Secretary Dr Godfrey Enita said the initiative aligns with the Governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, particularly its focus on human capital development.
The scheme covers the overall best graduating student from each session in Delta State University, Abraka; University of Delta, Agbor; Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba; and Southern Delta University, Ozoro.
Each beneficiary will receive full funding for Master’s and PhD programmes at accredited Nigerian universities, subject to the completion of the required documentation.
Dr Enita described the initiative as a strategic investment in building a skilled and globally competitive youth workforce capable of supporting the state’s long-term development priorities.
He added that the Board remains committed to expanding opportunities that reward excellence and uplift students across the state-owned institutions.
