Online Learning Key to Solving Education Problems – Expert

An education expert and Chief Executive Officer of eTutors Nigeria Limited, Mr Adeniyi Ajayi, has stated that utilising online technology is a viable solution to many problems facing the education sector in Nigeria.

Ajayi, in a statement made in Ibadan, Oyo State, said that online learning can help address issues such as overcrowded classrooms, high transportation costs, rising insecurity, and the shortage of qualified teachers.

He explained that the old method of face-to-face tutoring is no longer enough, adding, “We want to change how students learn by offering a safer and cheaper way to get lessons and share knowledge in this modern age.”

Ajayi described the launch of eTutors as a pivotal moment for education in Nigeria, providing a crucial solution for students facing barriers to quality learning.

The platform integrates live, interactive sessions with real-time engagement, connecting students with qualified tutors from across Nigeria and beyond.

“For too long, our students have faced difficulties accessing the resources they need. eTutors is here to change that,” he added.

Ajayi also noted that the platform aims to tackle major issues in Nigeria’s education system, citing that over 75% of students scored below 200 in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

“Through the platform, we are not just helping students pass examinations; we are fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will serve them for a lifetime,” he emphasised

These aids that e-tutors help students avoid include the dangers of completing lessons, such as accidents or malicious use, allowing them to learn safely from home.

“eTutors gives live lessons to help students prepare for examinations like UTME, WAEC, and IELTS. This shows our strong focus on helping students do better in school,” he said.
