Thousands of candidates converged on Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, on Wednesday for the institution’s 2025 Post-UTME screening exercise.
The computer-based test, held in batches, drew applicants from across Nigeria, with officials reporting a largely smooth and orderly process. Security staff and invigilators guided candidates into examination halls, while strict checks barred phones, calculators and other unauthorised materials.
The screening consisted of 50 multiple-choice questions tailored to the specific courses of the candidates. Aspirants for Arts programmes faced English, Literature, Religious Studies and General Studies, while Science candidates tackled Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English.
Reactions from candidates were mixed. A prospective Mass Communication student said the questions were “straightforward but required critical thinking.” At the same time, a Medicine applicant noted that “Chemistry and Physics demanded quick calculations, leaving little time to double-check.”
Minor technical issues were reported at some centres, but they were swiftly resolved. Parents praised the university’s organisation, with one describing the exercise as “maturely handled despite the large turnout.”
University officials said results will be released on Monday, September 8, to give candidates time to prepare for the next stage of the highly competitive admission process.
